Reading Plan
The Gospel of John in 21 Days
Read all of John's Gospel in three weeks — one chapter a day, with a short note to carry into each reading.
- Length
- 21 days
- Format
- Daily Scripture passage + optional note
John wrote his Gospel for a plain reason, and he said so himself: "that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." It is a good place to begin if you are new to Scripture and a good place to return if you have read it many times, because it moves slowly enough to sit with and deep enough to keep giving. This plan walks through all twenty-one chapters at the pace of one a day, which most people can read in ten or fifteen unhurried minutes. Don't rush to finish. Read the chapter, sit with the note, and let one line stay with you through the day. If you miss a day, simply pick up where you left off — the goal is not a clean streak but time spent with Jesus.
