Jesus Quotes: The Words of Jesus from the Bible
These are the words of Jesus himself, the lines printed in red in so many Bibles.

These are the words of Jesus himself, the lines printed in red in so many Bibles. They are not quotes about him but quotes from him, spoken to the weary, the curious, the grieving, and the doubting. For two thousand years these sayings have carried people through their hardest seasons and their brightest mornings. A fisherman heard them by a lake. A thief heard them from a cross. We hear them now on a page, and they still ask something of us. Read them slowly. Let each one sit before you reach for the next. They are short, but they are not small. The voice that spoke them is still speaking, and these words are where you can begin to listen.
