About

About The Bible Well

Plain Scripture for honest searchers.

The Bible Well exists for a simple reason: most people who type a real question about the Bible into a search engine get either a sales pitch, a denominational broadside, or a wall of jargon. We try to be the opposite of that.

Every article on this site aims to answer the actual question a person is asking, in language a person can read, with the Bible quoted in front of them so they can check the work.

Our voice

We write in a broad evangelical voice that takes Scripture seriously without taking sides in tribal arguments. We do not use shame, fear, or political rhetoric to make a point. We assume our reader is intelligent and weary of being talked at.

Editorial standards

  • NIV by default. When a passage reads meaningfully different in ESV, KJV, or NASB, we say so.
  • Scripture before commentary. When we quote a teacher — Tim Keller, John Piper, Francis Chan, Lysa TerKeurst — it is to illuminate the text, not replace it.
  • No politics. No endorsement, no implicit allegiance, no left-or-right framing. Scripture predates and outlasts every political season.
  • No condemnation language. Especially on sensitive topics, we lead with compassion. If you are in crisis, we link you to help.
  • No date-setting. When the topic is the end times, we present what Scripture says and what Christians have historically believed, never current-events-as-prophecy.

Who writes here

The Bible Well is a small editorial project. Drafts are produced with the help of modern tools, but every page is read and revised by a human before it ships. If you spot an error — theological, historical, or otherwise — please tell usand we'll fix it.
